It's never too early to start planning your future. Everyone learns at varying speeds and has different commitments, but the earlier you start the more time you will be able to put in - and the faster you will achieve your goals.
Taking on a part-time course is no mean feat when you're holding down a demanding Army career. But this training isn't just a foundation for the future - you'll start to see real results in your day-to-day management practices, enhancing your personal and professional development from Day One.
Studying online gives you the flexibility to learn from anywhere, at anytime and at your own pace. This training is designed to fit perfectly around the demands of your job, your postings and your leisure time.
There are no classrooms, no lectures, no travelling - just you, a PC, your course material and the support of your online tutors and peers. And even though you don't need to visit our campuses, you are most welcome to attend our graduation ceremony upon successful completion of the programme.
Each module has its own learning and teaching plan - your 'route map' through each subject. You are required to meet certain deadlines for completion and submission of work. However if you miss a deadline for an operational reason, you are given further opportunities to submit your assignments later.
Core material and additional supporting material are provided online via the University's e-learning platform. You also get the opportunity to develop independent learning skills through directed activity, with work-based assessments enabling you to put theory into practice within the context of your present job - an ideal opportunity to explore a particular issue in depth with real benefits to you and your unit.
Although this is an online programme, we recognise that you won't always have access to the internet. This is why we've included a CD-Rom featuring the core materials so you can study on deployment or at other times when your PC is off-line.
You will be assigned a personal tutor who will provide on-going support and guidance via email. You will also receive structured feedback on your assignments enabling you to monitor your performance, feel proud of what you've achieved and realise your potential faster. In addition, all students are encouraged to provide peer support via our popular online Group Discussion Forum.
The Army is keen to ensure that you get the best possible educational opportunities to maximise your potential. That's why the Enhanced Learning Credit Scheme promises to subsidise your fees by up to a substantial 80% enabling you to get a recognised managerial qualification for a fraction of the price paid by civilian students.
By starting to plan your exit strategy now, not only will you be improving your existing managerial skills for your Army career, you will also be keeping abreast of cutting edge management development issues within the wider marketplace. The result is the competitive edge you need to get a firm foot on the civilian ladder without leaving it until the last minute.
Talk to your Education Officer at your local Army Education Centre (AEC) or Regimental Career Management Officer (RCMO) about registering for this programme today.
